I had the Microsoft Sidewinder X8 for about a week now and so far I love it. I've used a Logitech MX518, and although this was not a bad mouse, have stalled and said it was time to get a new one. My priorities for a new mouse DPI acceptable, valid for large hands, good and relatively new with existing technology. Thanks to various reviews and forum surfing I found to get the Microsoft SideWinder Mouse (its predecessor). But when I was about to buy the mouse, I heard that Microsoft came up with an update next month. So I waited.
The major differences between the Sidewinder and Sidewinder X8 increased IPR (2000 to 4000), wireless, and a lack of weight adjustment. I was rather surprised not to see the adjustable weights, but this is not something I worry about. Some players in May challenge the wireless mouse game because of the backlog, but Microsoft said they did extensive testing and found no difference in time between the wired mouse and the Sidewinder X8.
The software installation is a breeze. When it was finished, I plugged the USB cable and when I started using the Sidewinder X8, I noticed a considerable improvement over the MX518 track – it is much more accurate and it was in 2000 dpi. The vertical side buttons are just as good or slightly better than the horizontal. I rarely used the MX518, but the Sidewinder X8 I use it very often. But they may take a while to get used to them. The remaining buttons work very well and have not had a problem with creating a macro on the macro button. The LCD displays the battery meter and the CIO is a nice touch too.
The wireless receiver is shaped washer and the charger is wrapped around making it very easy to extend. The magnetic end of the wire from the charger, it's easy to return the mouse. If the battery is dead (which does not happen for some time) you can still use the mouse when it attaches. The inside of the washer has two different mouse feet pads in addition to the standard mouse on them. I've tried them all and there is a slight difference between them, but chose to leave the standard figure. However, I noticed that they readily attract moisture and accumulate scratches. I fear it may interfere with the smooth movement, even if I did not notice before.
A problem that has bothered me means no grip on the mouse. My hands are on the wide side, and found that the mouse was ergonomically designed to accommodate. But when I put my hand on the mouse, click on the left index and middle finger on right click, have my ring does not fall into its slot correctly. This causes my ring up the track that is not a good feeling. The track is very linear, and the only way for my ring to fit into the groove is to move my hand a little behind. But it weakened my grip. While the problem is probably due to my hand, I heard no complaints about this problem. Instead, when you move your mouse with your index finger on the left click, middle finger on the scroll wheel and ring on the right click is great! My little finger is fully on track. But is it worth switching?
    Closure:
    Advantages:
    – Follow up with incredible 4000 DPI
    – Wireless with good battery life
    – Customizable Buttons
    Weaknesses:
    – Not the best foot mouse pads
    – Not for small hands
    – Adherence Questionable
    *** Update ***
It seems that this mouse was not the greatest. The BlueTrack is designed to detect, and a hard and smooth surface like a table that has not jumped a few times. Perhaps this can be fixed with updated firmware?

This mouse is the best mouse I've owned and I like it better than any Logitech mouse. There, I said.
To begin with, that matches and compliments from my Microsoft Sidewinder X6 keyboard. Although this mouse is not for small hands, my hands are normal size and the mouse feels good. The mouse comes with the IntelliPoint software where you can really Equip your mouse as you want. The X8 Mouse is a game, the wireless mouse with a USB drive with one end connected to a USB connector, then it gives a cord coming out from the disk that you attach to the base of the mouse when you want to download or l 'Corded use as a mouse. This is the best of both worlds. No more switching or replacing batteries in the mouse can be loaded by this method when you use it. With the included AA rechargeable battery needs recharging the mouse vibrates red color if you know it's time to recharge. There is also an on / off switch to save battery.
I put this round disk that contains the son to run or recharge the mouse out of sight when I opened my office. I also tested the mouse on various surfaces is a desk on a carpet on a bed and the mouse works perfectly without losing anything. Several feet of the mouse, but I can not say it's a big difference in how the mouse performs or feels, but said business is good without feet on the bottom. On the front of the X8, you have three LCD monitors to change the DPI on the fly. This function works very well and there is a noticeable difference so it is consistent with what your needs are if you use it for gaming or just use it as your selection with the mouse all the time. It has up to 4000 DPI. The mouse has many buttons that are well specified. You can customize some of them to suit your needs.
Now, I must say that I was far from the Microsoft previously due to the smooth ride of the wheel. I can not stand it. It would feel like you do not Contol what you browse. Well, this mouse has been prescribed, the scroll wheel so badly here are my other Microsoft mice are no longer a problem with X8. Scroll wheel is adjustable with the speed that is a must for me.
There are so many other features in May that I did not even bother now. Yes, it's a Microsoft product, but forget it. X8 Mouse is not only good but is comfortable and works perfectly with Evey, a mouse can have. I hope the feeling stable mouse holds over time, but I am very pleased not only with the Sidewinder X6 keyboard, but just as happy with the Sidewinder X8 mouse. Here, I give honors Sidewinder X8 Mouse.

Received in 2 days, pluged in and worked flawlessly, but for my hand size (med-large), this mouse is very unpleasant. It is a little flatter than I'm used too, without the hump in the middle to provide support, and I found my leaves look against the back of the mouse. I had to "claw" grip the mouse with the thumb and little finger to grip the sides of the mouse and it soon became very uncomfortable.
I suggest you test this mouse to a store to check for comfort.
